On September 24th, 2019, Mr. Wang Zhengyang, a senior partner of the Beijing JunZeJun (Shanghai) Law Offices, was invited to attend a corporate compliance training held by the West-to-East Pipeline Company, PetroChina, where Mr. Wang delivered a keynote speech titled as ‘Understanding and Application of the Contract Law & Legal Risk Management in Pipeline Operation ’.

Mr. Wang Started his speech with an introduction of a few representative cases which had huge domestic and international impact, whereby the attendees could intuitively recognize the significance of corporate compliance. Mr. Wang subsequently analyzed some of the most common issues faced by enterprises in their compliance risk management, such as the protection of assets of state-owned companies, the avoidance of conflicts of interest and interest transfer behaviors, and the prevention of various risks in transactions.

By referring to these experiences, Mr. Wang dissected in his speech the most widespread legal problems for pipeline enterprises, for instance, unclear terms and clauses in agreements, premature termination of contracts, disputes over adjacent rights, the selection of suppliers, etc. and put forward effective measures for coping with the aforesaid issues.
