On 4 November 2022, JunZeJun Shanghai Law Office held the bilingual webinar “Interpretation of new regulations on cross-border data transfer and prevention for compliance risks of personal information handling” in Chinese and English.

 

The speaker of this webinar is the senior partner of JunZeJun Law Office, Mr Wang Zhengyang, and the English interpreter Mr Wang Yuxuan is the paralegal of JunZeJun Law Office. Representatives of both Chinese and foreign companies attended the webinar.

 

 

The first topic of the webinar is Security Assessment. With the interpretation of and , Mr Wang Zhengyang introduced the circumstances where companies shall conduct a Security Assessment, including the scope of application, methods, the procedures.

 

 

Then Mr Wang Zhengyang interpreted relevant clauses of Personal Information Protection Law with case analysis, and introduced the principles of handling personal information; the compliance requirement for companies to process sensitive personal information; Several matters need attention when companies collecting personal information in employment compliance management; the circumstance where customer and employee’s information shall be “desensitized”.

 

The webinar ended with possible sanctions for illegally handling personal information, suggesting that both Chinese and foreign companies shall pay attention to the compliance of data issues, actively and properly solve new problems encountered in new situations.

 

In the Q&A session, guests asked questions on relevant topics, Mr. Wang Zhengyang gave detailed responses and explanations. JunZeJun legal team will hold more relevant seminars to assist companies to build a scientific compliance management system.
